Pass Rate
ProPass rate is the share of your finished prop challenges you passed. Limbix counts resolved challenges only, so accounts still running never drag it down.
Your prop firm pass rate is the share of finished challenges you passed. Limbix divides your passed accounts by your resolved ones: passed, failed or breached. Accounts still running are left out of both sides, so buying a new challenge never lowers your pass rate before you have traded a single day on it.
How it's calculated#
- Passed
- Accounts whose status is Passed.
- Failed
- Accounts that ran out of time before reaching the target.
- Breached
- Accounts that crossed their overall drawdown floor or a hard daily loss limit.
src/lib/prop-hub.tsLimbix sets these statuses from your trades and the account's rules, and re-checks them as new trades arrive.
| Status | When Limbix sets it |
|---|---|
| Passed | The balance reached the profit target and the Min trading days rule was met, on the account's final evaluation phase. A funded account with a profit target of its own is also marked Passed when it reaches it, and then counts here. |
| Failed | The Max trading days ran out, counted in calendar days from Started trading (or your first trade), with the balance still under target. |
| Breached | The balance fell below the overall drawdown floor, or below a daily loss limit set to Hard · breach. |
| Active | None of the above yet. Excluded from pass rate. |
Clearing an earlier phase is not a pass. The account moves to the next phase and stays Active. Limbix treats a futures evaluation as one phase: clearing phase 1 moves it to funded, which counts as passed. On other markets, phase 1 leads to phase 2, and the pass comes when phase 2 is cleared. That holds even for a one-step forex challenge, such as FTMO's 1-Step: at its target Limbix moves it to phase 2 instead of marking it passed.
Two statuses you set yourself sit outside the formula: Paid Out and Archived. Neither is counted as passed or as failed. The pass streaks on the ROI tab are different: they count a Paid Out account as a pass.
Worked example#
You have bought seven challenges.
| Outcome | Count |
|---|---|
| Passed | 2 |
| Breached | 3 |
| Failed (ran out of time) | 1 |
| Still active | 1 |
- Resolved: 2 + 3 + 1 = 6
- Pass rate: 2 ÷ 6 × 100 = 33.3%, shown as 33%
- The board shows "2 of 6" under it.
If Limbix divided by all seven, you would read 29%. That would fall again the day you bought an eighth challenge, before you had placed a trade on it.
When it shows "—"#
- Nothing resolved yet. With every challenge still running, the rate is "—", not 0%. 0% would read as "everything failed" when nothing has finished. The ROI tab says Nothing resolved yet.
- A firm or size with nothing resolved. On the ROI tab, a firm row says none resolved and a size row says live instead of a percentage.
- Filters. The pass rate on the Prop Hub board follows the stage and firm filters. If nothing resolved matches them, it shows "—".
- Essential plan. Prop Hub is part of Pro and Ultimate. See plans.
What's a good prop firm pass rate?#
Limbix sets no bands for pass rate, and quotes no industry average. Firms differ in targets, drawdown rules and time limits, so a rate means most next to your own history.
Read it with its count. 100% over one challenge and 67% over six are different claims. The board prints "2 of 6", and the ROI tab prints the attempts next to every firm and size for this reason.
Read it with money too. A high pass rate on challenges that never pay out still loses money. Net prop P&L tells you whether the passes paid.
How to improve it#
Pass rate is the outcome of how you trade inside a firm's rules. These are the numbers upstream of it.
- Find out how your challenges end. Open your breached accounts and check whether the overall floor or the daily limit closed them. Buffer-to-loss ratio shows how close your active accounts are to the same end.
- Compare sizes and firms on your own record. ROI per size shows your pass rate at each account size. ROI per firm shows it per firm.
- Check the rules Limbix grades against. A pass depends on the target, Min trading days and Max trading days you entered. If they are wrong, the status is wrong. See account stages.
- Protect the process, not the target. Your Discipline Score and Risk Score show whether you kept your rules and sized consistently during the challenge.
Where you'll see it#
- Prop Hub board (
/prop): the Pass rate cell in the top rail, with "passed of resolved" under it. It follows the stage and firm filters. - ROI tab (
/prop/roi): headed "Which evals are worth buying". The Pass rate cell shows "N of M resolved". The By firm and By account size panels show a pass rate per row. See ROI in the Prop Hub guide. - Adding an account: when you pick a challenge size, the wizard can quote your pass rate at that size from your own record.

Frequently asked questions#
Does an active challenge count against my pass rate?#
No. Limbix divides passed challenges by resolved ones only: passed, failed or breached. An account still running is in neither number. That keeps the rate from dropping every time you buy a challenge. The ROI tab still lists how many accounts are live per firm, because "0% with three still running" and "0% with three failures" are different situations.
Does passing phase 1 count as a pass?#
Not on a two-phase evaluation. Reaching the phase 1 target moves the account to phase 2, and it stays Active. It counts as passed only when it clears the final phase with the minimum trading days met. If it breaches in phase 2, the whole challenge counts as breached. Limbix treats futures evaluations as a single phase, so there phase 1 is the pass.
What's the difference between failed and breached?#
Breached means the balance crossed the overall drawdown floor, or a daily loss limit set to Hard · breach. Failed means time ran out: the Max trading days passed, counted in calendar days, with the balance still under target. Both count as resolved and not passed. A soft daily limit locks the day but does not breach the account.
Why does my pass rate show 100% after one challenge?#
Because one out of one is 100%. The number is right; the sample is small. Limbix prints the count next to the rate, for example "1 of 1 resolved", so you can judge how much it says. A pass rate starts to mean something once you have several finished challenges, ideally at the same size and firm.
Is my pass rate per firm or across all firms?#
Both. The board and the top of the ROI tab show one pass rate across every firm. The By firm and By account size panels split it per firm and per size, using the same rule: passed divided by resolved. A firm with nothing resolved shows none resolved, and a size shows live, rather than 0%.
