FOMO Entries
FOMO Entries counts the trades you tagged with FOMO and what they made or lost. Limbix doesn't detect FOMO: it's a feeling only you can name at entry.
Trades you tagged with FOMO. Limbix doesn't detect FOMO on its own — it's a feeling only you can name, so it counts only when you tag it. In Limbix, FOMO is one of the emotions you pick on a trade.
How it's calculated#
- tags
- The emotions you picked for the trade under STATE AT ENTRY.
- Net P&L
- The trade's P&L after fees.
src/lib/trade-mistakes.tsIt is the FOMO row of the Emotional Heatmap: how many trades carry the tag in your range, and their net P&L. A trade tagged FOMO and Anxious counts under both emotions.
Why Limbix stopped detecting FOMO#
Until 29 June 2026 Limbix tried to spot FOMO from the trade itself and filed it as a mistake. That changed by product decision: FOMO is a felt state, not a mistake. Since then it lives only in the emotion list.
The reason is simple, and it's why FOMO sits apart from the mistake detectors. A detector sees prices and timestamps, never the reason you clicked. A late entry into a move that is already running can be a chase. It can also be the breakout your playbook describes. The chart looks the same either way. Only you know whether the urge came first.
Older trades that the retired detector flagged no longer show that flag anywhere in the app. If you want those trades counted, tag them FOMO.
Worked example#
This month you tagged four trades FOMO:
| Trade | Tags | Net P&L |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | FOMO | −€120 |
| 2 | FOMO, Anxious | −€260 |
| 3 | FOMO | +€90 |
| 4 | FOMO | −€40 |
FOMO entries: 4. FOMO P&L: −120 − 260 + 90 − 40 = −€330. Win rate on the FOMO row: 1 of 4 = 25%. Trade 2 also adds −€260 to the Anxious row.
When it shows "—"#
With no trade tagged FOMO in the range, there is no FOMO row on the heatmap and nothing to count. FOMO also leaves the BEST and WORST tiles until at least 5 trades carry it. See the Emotional Heatmap for every sample floor.
How many FOMO entries is too many?#
A low count of FOMO entries is only good news if you tag honestly. Zero because you stopped chasing and zero because you stopped tagging look identical. Read the count with the heatmap footer's % OF DAYS COVERED. It tells you how many of your trading days carry any emotion tag at all.
How to improve it#
- Tag the feeling at review, every trade. See tag emotions on a trade.
- Compare FOMO with your planned entries. Filter the Trade Log by the FOMO emotion and read the entries against your playbook's trigger. See filter and search.
- Write the trigger into your playbook. A rule you can check at the moment of entry, such as "entry only on the retest", turns a feeling into a checkable rule. See add a rule to a playbook.
Where you'll see it#

- Dashboard: FOMO in Top emotional drivers when it ranks among your largest swings.

Frequently asked questions#
Does Limbix detect FOMO trades automatically?#
No. Limbix stopped detecting FOMO on 29 June 2026. A trade record shows prices and times, not why you entered, and a late entry can be a planned breakout or a chase. FOMO now counts only when you tag it under STATE AT ENTRY on the trade. NEX can suggest the tag from what you tell it, but it only lands when you confirm.
Why is FOMO an emotion in Limbix and not a mistake?#
Because it's a feeling, and only you can name a feeling. Mistakes in Limbix are behaviours a trade record can prove, like re-entering minutes after a loss or risking more than your own limit. FOMO often causes those mistakes, and they are still detected. The feeling itself sits with your other emotion tags on the heatmap.
What happened to my old FOMO mistakes?#
The retired FOMO flag no longer appears on any screen, in any mistake count or in any filter, for old trades and new ones alike. Your mistake totals therefore leave FOMO out across your whole history. To bring those trades into the FOMO row, open each one and tag FOMO as its emotion.
How do I stop FOMO trading?#
Limbix can't stop a trade, and it won't tell you what to trade. What it can do is price the pattern. Tag FOMO honestly for a few weeks, then read the FOMO row: how many trades, what they cost, which weekdays. Then write a playbook rule you can check before entry. A promise to "be patient" can't be checked. A rule like "entry only on the retest" can.
